Making Pillows - Do It Yourself CreationsAre you having trouble finding the right pillows for your home? If so, you may want to try making pillows. Making pillows enables you to have pillows that reflect your home's décor, as well as your taste and personality. When making pillows, you will need fabric, trims, and pillow inserts. You may also want to use a pillow pattern, especially if you aren't very handy with a sewing machine. However, if you don't have a pattern, just remember that you will need to have twice as much fabric as the width of your pillow insert, plus two times the thickness of your pillow, to make a cover that fits the insert. Don't forget to add a seam allowance, as well. If you are making pillows for use in a high traffic area, you may want to create a removable zippered cover instead of sewing the pillow closed permanently. This way, you can easily wash the covers when they become soiled. If you do not make the covers removable, you may want to choose stain resistant fabrics. Just think, when you are done making pillows and your guests admire them, you can tell them that you actually made them yourselves. Of course, this could lead to you getting requests for custom pillows from your friends and family For more information see: Decorative Throw Pillows For more ideas on making pillows, see these related topics: [Large Floor Pillows] [Custom Pillows] [Pillow Sham] |
