Floor pillows are an excellent decorating alternative that can add colorful accents and character to your favorite space. They are made from a variety of fabrics that can be solid colors or full of patterns. Floral patterns, plaids and animal prints are just a few of the patterns that you can find on floor pillows.
Floor pillow covers also come in a number of types of fabrics including velvet, chenille, suede, silk, denim and cotton, just to name a few. Some, like cotton and denim, are machine washable and will be more appropriate for frequent use. Another alternative is having a removable pillow cover which will increase the convenience and practicality of your pillow. The fill can also be different. A down or feather fill will make the pillow softer, whereas synthetic fills like rayon and acrylic will be firmer and offer more support.
The sizes and shapes that floor pillows are available in are endless. There are pillows large enough to sit on while enjoying a movie or small enough to rest your feet on. They can be round or square, long or short, plush or flat.
The most important thing to keep in mind when shopping for floor pillows is what you will be using it for. If it is just for decoration a silk embroidered pillow would be perfect. However, if it is going to be used often for watching TV or reading you will want something which offers support, is machine washable and made from a sturdy fabric like cotton or corduroy. Whatever you choose, a floor pillow can be fun and exciting accessory for a room.
