Choose From A Variety Of Dog Pillow Beds To Find One That Meets Your Dog's Needs

With all of the dog beds that are available it is important that we choose one that is right for our dog. Dog pillow beds are a very common type of dog bed and they come in such a wide range of styles, shapes and sizes that it is possible to find one for almost any breed of dog.

Dogs need to be comfortable and supported while they sleep just as we do, especially as they get older or if they develop arthritis. Dog pillow beds range from a very simple square pad to ones with an orthopedic design for older and arthritic dogs.

There are also dog pillow beds that are made in a pie shape to fit easily into corners. Another variation is the bolster pillow bed. These beds have a bolster pillow attached to either two or three sides of the bed so that your dog will have something that is raised up to rest his head on. These are recommended more for medium and large breed dogs.

The most important thing to consider is the size of your dog. Dog pillow beds come in a number of different sizes from small for poodles and other small breed dogs, to medium, large and oversized for Great Danes and other large breed dogs. Measure your dog from the tip of his nose to his hind quarters, and check the dimensions of dog pillow beds to find one that is the right size. The bed should be large enough to give your dog several inches of room to move around.

Although it is better to have a bed that is too big rather than too small, it is still important that small dogs have a smaller bed. Dog pillow beds for small dogs are made specifically for small dogs and one that is made for a large dog will not support a small dog in the same way.

You need to look for dog pillow beds that offer support and comfort. You'll also want something that can either be washed or has a removable cover that is machine washable. The cover should be made from a soft durable material and the fill should be of a high quality so that it retains its shape and doesn't bunch or flatten over time. A hypo-allergenic fill is also recommended for sensitive dogs.
